Barack the Vote!

On March 4, 2008, Texas Democrats and independents are going to have the opportunity to do something they haven't done in decades: impact the outcome of a presidential campaign. A quick glance at the title of this post reveals that this writer already has his favorite. The photo above is from an Obama rally held yesterday in Fair Park, not far from The Amsterdam Bar. The time has come for a change, and on March 4th, Texas can deliver that change.

Hurray!!! The State Fair is over!!!

Well, it was fun while it lasted, but the Texas State Fair 2007 ends tonight around 10:00 PM. That means we get our parking back! That means we get our regulars back!

We've missed you; please come back and visit us tomorrow night for Jazz night! The weather is cooling off and it's a great time to hang out on our patio.

Hah-ha-ha!!! I love the holiday season!

Only one more week of the Texas State Fair!

We'll miss it when it's gone, but we can hardly wait to see all our old friends and regulars.

Be sure to come out October 22nd for our first Jazz night of the post-fair season! We'll meet you on the back patio!

"Dallas" movie in deep trouble

Dallas, Texas--November 15, 2006

According to Big Shot Celebrity, the new "Dallas" movie with John Travolta continues to be plagued by troubles. A number of celebreties, including local favorite Owen Wilson, have already bailed on the project.

I'm not sold on the whole "Dallas" theme anyway: been there, done that. Now how about a movie about a plucky little bar located in Exposition Park in Dallas, Texas. Now that sounds like a great movie!
