Just got some fantastic news: Darryl Thomas will be serving as co-Master of Ceremonies for Expo Park Jazz Fest 2010!Darryl Thomas is the owner and operator of the Sandaga Jazz venue, a non-profit devoted to jazz in Dallas/Fort Worth. Darryl is incredibly knowledgable about the local jazz scene and extremely generous when it comes to sharing what he knows.
Sandaga Jazz is a local venue known for its jam sessions and for hosting such national jazz artists as Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Steve Turre, Wycliff Gorden, Dave Burrell and others. Darryl is committed the preservation of jazz through Sandaga’s Youthful Jazz Program which encourages youth interest in jazz and provides donated instruments to young musicians.
