Renovation and repairs, January 15-16, 2013

Don't panic: we are doing some renovating and sprucing up to the old place. The Amsterdam Bar will be closed this Tuesday (Jan. 15th) and Wednesday (Jan. 16th). Be strong, we will reopen Thursday (Jan. 17th)!

Tonight! A benefit for Dyrk Burcie

From James Bristo, our favorite neighborhood policeman:

Dyrk Burcie is the four year old son of a Dallas Fire Fighter and is suffering with stage 4 liver cancer. Come help us raise a little money to help offset the growing medical bills that the family is going through. It’s tough enough to watch your child hurt so let’s help where we can. Join us for an evening of music with some of the area’s best artist. I will be hosting and would love to see you there.

Tonight's Jazz Night is a benefit for Esther Phelps

Tonight's Jazz Night at the Amsterdam Bar is a benefit for Esther Phelps. Esther is the wife of North Texas bassist Drew Phelps, and right now she is battling breast cancer without insurance. Shelley Carrol and Brad Leali are dedicating tonight's performance to Esther and Drew.

The guys who play the jazz and the folks who run the Amsterdam Bar, along with all our fantastic regulars, would like to help this family that has been so good to so many people.

There's no cover and no fixed donation tonight, but every little bit that you can spare will help Esther and Drew at this critical point in their lives. Hopefully our little community can pull together and make a difference for them. So come out tonight and enjoy the jazz and the beer, and share the love.

Free movie tickets during Friday's Happy Hour!

Head up on free movie tickets during Friday's Happy Hour at Amsterdam Bar. We are giving away screening passes and koozies and t-shirts Friday, June 8 from 3pm-7pm for That's My Boy.

Tonight's Jazz Night will have a Latin flavor, as it features Henry Munoz Salseros & Shelley Carrol doing it up for your enjoyment.

Dinner will be available through The Little Vessel Grill Gourmet Food Truck, as always, washed down with a selection from our award winning collection of beers!
