It is currently 76.7 degrees in our world famous beer garden, with the forecast calling for the temperature to fall to about 65 degrees by midnight tonight. Our panel of beer scientists has informed us that this is--statistically speaking--perfect beer drinking weather. So don't walk--run to the Amsterdam Bar tonight to ensure that you and your friends get a table in our beer garden tonight to enjoy this perfect beer drinking weather.

Jazz Jam about to get under way

Tonight's the night for the Jazz Jam. Shelley will start about 10:30 pm or so and go until 2:00 am. Musicians are welcome. This is your chance to match wits with the best of Dallas' jazz players.

More footage of frog caught in NASA rocket launch

By now, many of you have seen the photo of the frog caught up in NASA's launch of a rocket from Wallop's Island, Virginia. What you may not have seen is exclusive footage obtained by us here at the Amsterdam Bar's Jet Propulsion Laboratories (bet you didn't know we had jet propulsion laboratories). Here is footage of the frog after the launch, showing that he did in fact survive and make it into space.

Jazz night. Tonight Shelley Carrol will unleash his Electrik Jazz Band on the Amsterdam Bar! The temperature on our patio is a steamy 92 degrees, but we have cold beer that will make it all better.

The music starts around 10:00 P.M., but get here early if you want a table.

This Sunday Night, September 1, 2013, Shelley Carrol will continue his new Sunday Night Jazz Jam! From 11:00PM to 1:00 AM, local jazz players can come and sit in with Shelley Carrol and many of his regular players. Shelley Carrol knows that improvisation is at the heart of great jazz, and that's why he's shaking things up.

Also appearing tonight are bassist Jonathan Fisher and drummer Jaelun Washington, so there will be a solid base for anyone who wants to sit in.

And don't forget: tomorrow is our regular Monday night Bad Ass Jazz!
